Agni Hotra Fire Ceremony

Ceremony is something that we feel is inherently lacking in our anglo culture. Ceremony is a  celebration of life, an opportunity to create a space where we can contemplate and be present with the seen and unseen forces of the world, to contemplate and evoke that which is truly sacred.

We are so grateful that our beautiful teacher Rose Baudin is offering ceremony in the form of Agni Hotra fire ceremony on our Byron Bay retreats.

Rosie shares this Homa ceremony as taught to her by Dr. Robert Svoboda who encouraged her to perform this ritual in the way of his mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda.

Agni Hotra is a tantric fire ceremony. Rosie calls this “ritual technology”. Collectively we use the power of mantra and symbolism to create a healing vortex. Creating healing for ourselves, our families, and the land on which we perform the ceremony.

According to the Art of Living Ayurveda, some key benefits of Homa include:

  • Improves the physical, mental and emotional health

  • Neutralises negative energies and reinforces positive energies

  • Repairs the ozone layer and removes harmful radiations in the air

  • The smoke from the homa (fire offering) is a natural mosquito repellent

  • The ash from the homa has anti-bacterial properties and can be applied to wounds when mixed with ghee

  • The cow dung reduces bacteria in the air

  • Ghee is considered to be a natural detox agent It dissolves toxic elements in the air

It is so exciting for us to now see an abundance of scientific articles sharing the healing benefits of this ancient tantric practice, both for the body and for the earth.

It’s a very exciting time on earth, where ancient rituals and practices are just now being studied scientifically, and quite often the results are profound.
